What to keep in mind when looking for a sauna

There are a lot of benefits to having a traditional sauna at home, but you have to find just the right sauna for your needs. To help you with that process, we have made a shopping guide for you!

Size

The first thing to consider is how many users, that will be in the sauna at the same time. Our smallest model (Stavanger) sports a mere 1,7 m2, making it possible to fit into any home. This means, though, that it can "only" fit two or three people at the same time, so if you want to offer your guests a soothing visit to the sauna, it would be an idea to have a look at our larger models with room for six people (Zürich).

Design

All of our traditional saunas are mad of Canadian Hemlock wood, which match every style of interior. But maybe want a large glass wall, limited amount of glass or even a partly frosted glass door (Trondheim)? All of our saunas have built-in LED-ligts, so you will get enought light in the cabin no matter what. You simply have to figure out, whether you want to have a view of the rest of the room or not.

You can even get saunas with an ekstra dimension in the design in the shape of tiled walls. The back walls of our Zürich-model have this kind of design.

Traditional or infrared sauna

The biggest difference between a traditional sauna and an infrared model is that the heat inside will not reach anything near the same extreme heat in an infrared sauna. A traditional sauna can easily reach temperatures near 100 ° C, but an infrared sauna will rarely rise above 70 ° C, even though you still get a nice sweat. So if you tend to have an issue with very hot air, you might want to consider, if you want an infrared sauna instead of a traditional sauna.

If you want the best of both worlds, you can also get af sauna, that combines traditional and infraread heating (Royal Combi III).

If you want to know more about infrared saunas, you can have a look at our article "What is an infrared sauna?". Here you will find all quesions and answers worth knowing regarding this modern type of sauna.

Accessories

Sauna bathing is a quick and easy way to treating yourself. That is why it might be a good idea to add some luxurious accessories to your new sauna.

You can get stone fountains, backrests made of wood and even various fragrances to make the experience even more comfortable and relaxing.

All of our indoor saunas are delivered with a complete sauna set including heater, stones, ladle, bucket and timer (usually in the form of an hourglass). In short, you will have exactly what you need to enjoy a relaxing trip to the sauna - but that does not mean it is not worth treating yourself with a little extra luxury.
