Our sauna wood is aspen and red alder in class A. Only these types of wood meet our strict quality requirements for close-grained grain and a small number of knots, so they can withstand high temperatures and large temperature fluctuations in sauna environments.
We do not offer saunas made of pine and spruce because they become unbearably hot and release resin. Furthermore, the wood quickly becomes dirty and unhygienic – and risks splitting due to the many knots in the wood.
Location of ventilation
This product can be used for both saunas and infrared cabins, however, they are placed in different ways.
In a sauna, the ventilation flap (ventilation flap) should be located opposite the sauna heater, and no higher than approximately hip height.
In an infrared cabin, it can be placed on the ceiling, for example.
Schematic structure of sauna
Aspen wood, untreated
Aspen
Aspen wood has a beautiful light color and a fine knot-free structure. Aspen does not feel hot because it has low thermal conductivity.
Aspen wood, heat treated
Thermoasp
Treated aspen is both heat and dirt resistant, making it ideal for saunas. The heat treatment also strengthens the wood and gives it a deep, beautiful reddish-brown color.
Red electricity
Aspen
A cheaper and less durable alternative to aspen. This wood also has a nice texture and the color is yellowish or reddish – which over time changes to be more reddish brown. Brownish spots may occur.
