The wood in sauna and infrared cabins is exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations. Therefore, it is important that not only the right type of wood is chosen, but that it has also grown under the right conditions. The grain of the wood should be close together. This is achieved by a low annual growth rate, which is only found in trees that come from regions with harsh cold and short summers.
