The bottom bracket MUST always rest directly on the floor.
Raising / lowering fittings are metal. The whole door weight is carried by the lower bracket. It is therefore important that the bracket rests on the floor or is similarly supported, as there is otherwise a risk that the bracket will break under the weight of the glass door. If the floor in the bathroom is submerged, you can use an elevated bracket.
